Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

Only 127 days until Christmas

Pauladean

The Christmas magazines are already on the stands.  Way to rush things Paula.  I’m not even ready for the 4th of July.

I don’t think it’s too soon to think about Halloween though.  I saw this two tiered black cake stand in the Gooseberry Patch catalog and I think it would look so cute with orange frosted mini-cupcakes.

We tend to drag out the same tired old decorations each year at our Annual Halloween Extravaganza – and this year I want to freshen things up.  Last year I bought this gorgeous black charger with rhinestones all around the edge that made a great tray for hors d’oeuvres.

I’m conflicted about the Halloween party this year because a couple of people won’t be able to attend the weekend we normally would have the party.  So we either do it without them or do it another date.  Or just skip it this year.  You can’t do it after Halloween because it just feels wrong.  Maybe this year we could do it a week earlier – what to you think, my people?

My first inclination was to just skip it but then I saw the cake plates…..

And look at this chandelier from Victorian Trading Company  – this would be perfect hanging over the food table:

I better stop decorating and start thinking of a costume.

Let’s do it early so Momma and I can attend. Lizz too… Maybe with ample warning, she could get time off work. Also, that cake stand is awesome!

That chandeliler is too cute! I love Halloween, now Christmas I could probably skip it and not notice.

I vote for early too… I just received a large box of Halloween decorations from Illuminations we can use. A owl lantern, three bat lanterns and a large silhouette scene of a fence with a frightened cat, a witch and a couple of bats. Too cute!! Let’s pick the date so Lizz can get a airline ticket.

I hate to be a party pooper but we were planning on skipping the party this year. I get so stressed out trying to figure out a costume, always end up spending too much money, it’s a tough time of the year financially…I could go on but I wont. I’ll let the kids decide if they want to go since they can drive themselves now.

Sigh.. I saw that mag yesterday too of Paula’s! I almost bought it so that I could maybe cool down but I put it back! Can I come to your Halloween party? Because it sure sounds wonderful to me!

I’m so not ready to consider Christmas yet. I am getting very charged up about autumn though. I think it’s great that you have a Halloween party. I’ve never thrown one but have always wanted to.
