One old circa 1980 oak table. Umm – just ignore the Diet Coke can. In fact let’s just ignore that whole ‘giving up Diet Coke so I don’t die’ post from the other day. It’s not going well….
ANYWAY ~ A little 120 grit sand paper, a little primer and some semi-gloss Dunne Edwards Swiss Coffee paint (just the best white out there – perfectly creamy – not too bright, not yellowish or beigy) and viola!
Don’t forget the elbow grease. I’ll take another picture as soon as it is cured enough to place things on it. I have a ton of family photos in assorted silver frames that go on this table. I lent the table to my oldest son and every time anyone came into the living room they would stop in their tracks and ask where the pictures were.
I love a productive weekend.

I love white furniture(although my husband is a “stain only” man so I only get to paint little doo dads I pick up on my treasure hunts) You have such good taste! So classic~~simple yet elegant!

I JUST bought a table just like that, only coffee table size, and I want to paint it to put in my new family room but my husband WILL NOT tolerate someone painting over “perfectly good wood as he puts it”. I’ll have to show him this and then I’ll have to “accidently” spill some paint on it.

Great job!! I’m looking forward to seeing those photos in silver frames, etc.

I am heartbroken thinking of the table I let go of about a year ago. It was almost exactly like your but the base was larger. It was sooo heavy and I had painted it once and didn’t think I could redeem it. (I wasn’t into painting and decorating like I am now.) But I just hope that it at least found a good home where someone lovingly brought it back to life!

Fantastic transformation! I need to find your paint brand, I’ve never heard of it before. I’m still searching for that perfect shade of white. Yours looks perfectly perfect.
Bren says
That’s a big difference and you did a great job, I love that color of white.
As for giving up the diet coke, I think it’s what gave you such energy to complete this project, I think you only gave in to drinking it for the “decorating buzz” right?
hehe….

Found your Blog last night. And I so love it! I LOVE the table. I’ve never heard of that brand of paint. Do you mind sharing where you buy it? I’m getting ready to redo our MBedroom and will be painting everything white. Didn’t want white/white, or cream or yellow! So this looks and sounds perfect!
