Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

With appreciation…

Picture_377

Thank you for the blogiversary wishes.  I can’t believe how fast a year went by.  And I can’t believe how shaky and unsure and just plain dumb my first entries were.  Seriously – how to boil an egg??

I am woefully behind on responding to emails and comments but I vow to catch up this week.  So if you get an email from me and you can’t remember what the heck I am referring to – well, that’s why.

Last count I had 131 to respond to…

Work continues to be a trial and it looks like I’ll be spending the better part of August in Colorado Springs.  Hope it’s nice there.  I’ll be training during the day and writing training material at night.  It’s going to be quite a ride!

All this while trying to wean myself from Diet Coke.  I drink a six pack a day and evidently it’s going to kill me.  And here I was thinking my vice is pretty innocuous.  I start my day around 6:30am and by 7:00am I’ve usually polished off two of them already.  It’s going to be tough to give up.  I have cut back to two a day and haven’t had the usual caffeine deprived headache (probably because I am drinking tea instead).

Diet Coke sales are going to plummet and it will be all my fault.  Of course I could always do this with Diet Coke instead.

That UTube clip is insane. Who thinks these things up? Diet Coke will have no sales slump if those boys continue to experiment with it.

Good luck sounds like a very busy month. I tried to quit drinking coffee once, I went back on it after the headaches started.

You will love Colorado Springs in August. We will have lovely weather just for you. It has been really hot but cooled down lately which is nice. I’m in Denver and I think it is usually a little cooler in the Springs. You’ll have to do lot so sight seeing while you are there. I hope you aren’t too busy!!

    6 Diet Cokes/day? Slacker! LOL

Seriously, I bring 6 Diet Cokes with me to work (we’re a Pepsi campus). I have 2, sometimes 3, before I get to work. And I drink another 3-4-5 at night (sometimes maybe more?). Wow, I’ve shocked myself with how many Diet Cokes I drink. If I were to give up Diet Coke, Coca Cola truly *would* go out of business!!!! 😮

Congratulations on your anniversary! I hope that I can be as eloquent when a year has gone by. Good luck on the caffeine issue. Three times I gave up caffeine (three pregnancies). As soon as those babies were weened, it was right back to coffee for me. I now limit to 2-3 cups a day. Its not easy.

That study scared the crap out of me!!! I just bought a 24 pack on sale at Safeway! I was thinking about going back for more…maybe I should cut back too. I don’t drink as much as you but I’m also drinking coffee throughout the day.

I don’t know how you keep up with responding to all the comments and emails! I don’t expect a reply every time I leave a comment and I’m sure others would agree.

I am a 6 packer (diet dr. pepper) a day but this study has me rethinking it all… I mean, even without the study, if you think about it, can all those chemicals be good for you?

I think I will go make some sun tea!!!!

🙂 Good luck on the work situation. I hope you can find some joy in your few precious free moments! (between 2 am and 4 am sounds like!) You can do it! Just think… Sept. is coming, Sept. is coming! 🙂

It could be worse. . .it could be a six pack of something else everyday!!!(Hmmm…)
Lots of bad stuff in “Diet” everything anyway. . .all the best to you with it!

If the Diet Coke/Mentos video is any indication of the way your mind works–and if it’s anything like the training sessions you write–I want to attend. I’ll bring my raincoat and umbrella!

Happy Bloganniversary to you, Happy Bloganniversary to you.
Congrats on a whole year of blogging, I just started a couple of weeks ago and I am already addicted.
Trying to wean yourself off diet coke will be hard, I am so addicted to ice tea (it’s the champagne of the South), I am heading to Cali tomorrow and everywhere I go they won’t have ice tea, it’s just inhumane to live without ice tea. I don’t know how people do it. Give me an ice tea and a place to lay my head and I am perfectly happy.
Colorado will be so pretty and I think the weather there will be nice, it’s a wonderful Summer in Texas so far. We have never had such nice weather, days in the high 80’s are much preferred over our regular 110 degrees in the shade….lol
Have a fantastic day. 🙂 Bren

That video is a classic. Makes me wonder how our bodies could handle it if we ate those 2 things together…but I don’t like either ..so I am safe!

Colorado Springs is a wonderful place to be in August. I hope you get some time to get out and enjoy it!

Your blog continues to be breathtaking! Thank you so much for the comment. How does one build up readership if not by trackbacks?
I grew up in Colorado and am certain your August will be beautiful.
I sort of became tired of all those diet coke cans and took up ice tea.

You are so sweet to give me tips. I used to be quite forthcoming in giving people, who contacted me, tips on becoming licensed, or starting an art business but I never received any thank yous or comments and I ran out of energy.Thank you so much!

    This is a neat post!

Almost 50 years ago, when I was in 10th grade, my Biology teacher told us what coca cola would do to our stomachs! I remember that as if it was yesterday. As I type, I have diet coke sitting next to me. I used to drink more, but nowadays, it takes a couple of days to finish a litre. I usually drink a diet coke or diet dr pepper a couple times a week. I love my tea, everyday, though!

My stomach is jim dandy, by the way!

I feel for you…I drink way to much of it too…I’m not sure how many cans a day.

I went out in the street and did the mentos with my teenage son and his buds. We were amazed it really does work.

Before I knew about the whole mento thing this would happen: I’m always drinking diet coke on trips…hubby is always eating mentos. Eventually he’d aske me if i wanted one and if i did I’d feel so sick……well no wonder! Amazing my stomach is still in one piece.
