Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

In the pink

Pink_things

Okay I’m not really in the pink.  My dad says that ("I’m in the pink") whenever anyone asks him how he is.  If by chance he doesn’t say it then my sister and I hover around him nervously until he bats us away with a "oh for crying out loud ~ I’m fine."

In my search around the house yesterday for ideas on how to rearrange things I noticed how many pink objects I have.   I never really consider myself a collector of anything but maybe I’m an accidental collector.  I do have a small collection of teacups that are sadly tucked away in china cabinet in a room that rarely gets used.

P2190006 I was thinking of how I could display them more prominently and was thinking maybe I could get a pretty painted hanging china shelf and hang it on this huge expanse of bare wall.

I don’t know how to exactly explain what I’m thinking of except to say it would be sort of like this only with three shelves instead of two.

I’m not sure Rick would go for it so it might have to be one of those stealth decorating things I do.  Except that I would probably need him to make it for me so he might get suspicious.

I do the stealth decorating thing, too. And to do it more competently, I had to learn how to use power tools. Perhaps that would be something for you to consider? lol

Stealth??? Just don’t put it in your blog and he’ll never see it. ROFL!!!! I had to read your previous blog (painted sconces)to my DH, except I had to wait until I wasn’t laughing so hard 😉 I covet each of those pink pieces you have BTW. Oh, and when we had cats that were allowed outside we used to have all sorts of living treasures brought in and let loose, too.

I bought a new lamp and a big tall candlestick this week and found myself sneaking them into the house! Dennis finally noticed the lamp after three days (only once I turned it on), but hasn’t said a word about the three foot tall candle stick. I always get the “you should not be spending the money” lecture.

Your dad sounds like a fun guy! I still laugh about the bomb on the back of the bunny!

I love everyone of those pink pieces you have. Wow, they are beautiful.

I think that shelf would be beautiful on that wall.

I agree, you totally need to put something on that back wall of your kitchen dining area, what about something like Nan has with a display of hanging things, copper, or pink dishes. But in the case of a teacups… perhaps a shelf like you linked to is a good idea.

Just found your blog through friends blogs and I will be back often. I think you have a very good idea with the shelf and it would wonderful on the empyt wall. Or you could get plate holders and hang your lovely plates. I could see a small shelf with a plant and a few pieces and the plates hanging if you do not want to go with the big shelf. Sorry I seemed to go on and on. Come visit at September Morn when you have a moment.

I started with one pink teapot and I am hooked. Now I find myself looking for pink and more pink. Our new apartment will have lots of pink. I adore your pink. Each piece is gorgeous, especially the teacup. That shelf is wonderful and would work beautifully on your empty wall. It would be an awesome place to display your treasures.
