Did you all have a nice New Year's? We were hosting our two and half year old granddaughter and for the first time in forever I was asleep well before midnight. Running after a toddler will do that to you.
After she left yesterday I started watching Marie Kondo's Netflix series. Was that ever a mistake. I spent the rest of the afternoon organizing my office and saying thank you, see you later to a bunch of stuff. And that was only going through two drawers.
Along with the impromptu decluttering I also set up this year's bullet journal. After I got laid off in September I just got out of the habit of setting up my weekly spreads. I have really enjoyed the past few months being off work but the time has come to seriously look for work. That task needs to be very organized and I think just having my week in general be more organized will help.
I updated my weekly spread since pre-layoff my journal was mostly used for work related tasks and events.
I also have a long term goal in regards to this blog. I get a lot of pleasure out of the blog and I think it could be structured so much better and be more aesthetically pleasing while remaining authentic to who I am. I will be making the move to WordPress for starters and along with that I want to improve my photography and editing skills. I would also like to launch an Etsy shop as a companion to the blog.
I'm going to break down this large goal in manageable chunks. This first three months of this year will be dedicated to the WordPress migration and improving my photography skills and Etsy shop will come later in the year. It would be so easy to be completely overwhelmed by the amount of work needed but by breaking it down and coming up with a system to track it I can really give it the focus required.
Okay – back to my desk drawers…
