Kelly found a stash of yo-yo's at a garage sale. Just stuff in a bag. Some lovely woman's life work.
What was especially fun about this find is that her templates were also in the bag. Cut out from a vintage childrens book or game and labeled with her name – Betty.
I think I might have enough to make a decent sized quilt. I prefer the look of having the yo-yo's mounted on a backing or thin quilt – kind of like this. I love the red binding on that quilt.
What's nice is that these yoyo's are the same size and the ones I have made.
I just can't imagine all the hours that went into making each little yoyo and for them to just end up being sold at a garage sale.
Also included were scraps of old fabric – can anyone place the age or general era of these fabrics?

The fabric looks like feed sacks to me. What a priceless find! I too always think of all time and love that went into vintage quilts when I see them!

The fabric looks like very early 60s or before. Looking forward to seeing what you end up making with these. <3

Love the colors! I admire you for rescuing and putting them all together and onto a backing. It will be gorgeous.
