Ugh I am the worst blogger. I think the only thing worse than a blogger that doesn't blog is one that when they FINALLY do get around to it just apologize profusely and offer up a bunch of excuses.
So, ahem….
No real update on our outdoor remodelling projects. The deck is coming along, albeit a bit slower than anticipated. Isn't that the way it always is? Just take whatever the time estimate is and double it. Our contractor is wonderful – it's just – well it's a really big deck.
The driveway circle is done, except for the planting. Work has begun on the flower bed along the front of the house. We are at the mercy of the landscape guy's "real" job (the one that provides healthcare benefits and a retirement plan) but we were well aware that he couldn't commit to working on particular days.
I'm in a bit of an organizational phase right now. Control what you can and all that.
I saw this simple, yet brilliant way of organizing patterns on this blog post (get a load of her studio! She is the queen of organization). (edited to add – well I could have sworn that is where I saw the idea but I can't find it now. Look at her post anyway)
You just take a garden variety binder, add some top loading sheet protecters and there you have it. All your patterns easily accessible and viewable. All my patterns fit in one binder but if you had a large number of them you could have a separate binder for quilt patterns, embroidery patterns, sewing patterns….
By the way – I got the free label download here. And then I just used a free typewriter font that I got from Dafont.com.
Now that I'm all organized maybe I'll actually use one of my patterns and make something.
