Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

4.4.11

Box1

Thank you for all the birthday wishes on Friday.  That was a lot of fun.

I had fully intended to take the entire day off from work but things conspired against me and I ended up working half a day anyway.  In the afternoon I took myself out to lunch and then hit up the local antique mall.

I ended up buying an adorable letter box in the perfect green.  I love the detail work on it.  It was missing whatever was originally in the center of the medallion so I glued a glass button there.

Box3

I also found a pair of crocheted, monogrammed pillowcases (with an "A") that are in perfect condition.

I was really pleased – Normally I don't find anything that I really think I need and here I found two.  Then a little further on I found a milk glass cache pot that matched one I already have so I added that to my growing pile of finds (I neglected to take a picture of it but it matches this one).

Box2

I had one more aisle to go down and what should I find but two perfectly peely old porch posts.  So I added them to the pile and staggered up to the checkout counter.  Actually I flagged down a nice young man that worked there and made him stagger to the counter for me.

Post1

Aren't they perfect?  My intent is to install them at the bottom of the lawn with birdhouses perched on top of them.

You have a sharp eye, Andrea! Peely porch pillars, who’da thunk it. Love the letterbox. And those pillowcases are so “you”!

Ha – the same thing goes when you are shopping for clothes.. ALWAYS find things I want when I don’t need anything… but need a particular outfit… and NOTHING! ha ha

Instagram post 2340945580020536121_13069943 Guess who is getting some Grandma time this weekend! Rick thought this was a little over the top but I just wanted to fulfill my Holiday fairy tent fantasies.
Instagram post 2340488496363792013_13069943 I ran out of day (and daylight) to take a real photo so you get a pithy saying instead. Happy weekend! You are all dear to me. Just thought you should know that.
