How we roll around here on the weekend.
About three months ago I got a notion that I need to pull everything out of the attic so I could go through it and consolidate boxes.
After I got it all down into the garage, swept out the attic (huge mess from the roofing job two years ago) and threw out the disgusting old carpet that was covering the floor up there I ran out of steam.
Sorting and organizing is one of those things you really have to be the mood for. I guess I was in the mood this morning because I started sifting through the boxes and the next thing you know I've got half of it dragged out into the driveway and Rick climbing up and down the attic stairs (he always manages to get sucked into these projects of mine).
Had to take a break to return a stray dog to her owner. This is Maddi. She wandered onto our property. We live at the end of a country lane and I didn't recognize her as one of our neighbors'. I called the number on her tag and then met up with her young owner at the end of the street (she lives in a nearby neighborhood). She was very sweet and I was tempted to just keep her for myself. Her person was very relieved to get her back though.
Anyway – back to cleaning. Here is after:
Tada!
I can finally park in my garage again. We have two garages – one single car garage (mine) and a double car garage (Rick's).
Okay not the most exciting way to spend a Saturday but I do feel a sense of accomplishment.
There is a guy down the street that actually has a garage with nothing in it except for his car. Plain white walls, clean floor, nothing stacked up to the rafters or hanging on the walls.
I wonder where he puts all his stuff.

Sometimes, you just have to get it done. I did this same thing two months ago and although painful, it had to get done. Looks great!

Looks fantastic – well worth the effort!

Hey there! Your garage looks great! Mine looks more like your ‘before’ photos…mostly because it is ruled by two guys. I envy your finished product! Our neighbors…in their late seventies, are always cleaning all around their place. I find it amusing that they recently WALLPAPERED their garage! It looks just great…not a thing in it and ‘fancy’ walls. It’s almost more than I can stand!
You enjoy yours! pat

Some day, my garage is going to look like that. Some day.

Congratulations! You were very brave. I’m sure you’ll love having everything where you know wher it is.
As for the guy down the street – his family is probably scared of him. And Patricia might get invited to “tea” in the garage. I’d entertain in there and not have to clean the house!
