Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

Semi done

Someone sent me an email and kindly suggested I might want to update my blog now and then.

Getting a bit tired of looking at those cupcakes?

So I am this close to finishing my runner.

I wish the colors were coming out better in my pictures.  I give up on my photography skills (and my post editing isn't helping either).

I still have to do a blanket stitch around the green outer edge.  I have to confess that I really don't like the blanket stitch.  I think it is a very inelegant stitch.  Too aggressively home-spun for me.  It does help that this doesn't have a contrasting color for the floss.  The outer edge will be done in the same green as the felt.

There are 96 French knots in that runner.  Why do I always like to count how many French knots I've done?  Sense of accomplishment I suppose.

This was a fun project and I love the colors I decided to do it in.  I think they are very soothing.

So onto the next project – Should I start a brand new one or keep plugging away at my 'to be finished' projects?

Oh, that is gorgeous! And I agree, the colors just make you want to take a deep breath and let it out and relax.

I’m in favor of completing projects left undone…it seems to me I get a bigger feeling of accomplishment when I pick up something I never finished and FINISH it! There’s a unicorn tapestry in my sewing box that’s been calling out to me for, oh…ten years?

I think you should finish it, it will be just in time for spring. It has turned out so pretty!

Why not embroider about 12 napkins to match? Just kidding!!! Although it would be wonderful for a spring (Easter?) brunch.

Thank Bob you gave me something new to look at! My eyes were glazed over in a sugar haze from those dang cupcakes. BTW, licking them on the screen has almost no taste what-so-ever. 🙁

Love your runner! You make such lovely things. I vote for completing a partially done project.

I love your table runner project. From the first time you share the plan and the materials I’ve hope to see it again. Keep up the good work – you’ll get through the blanket stitch! ~Adrienne~

Funny – I was wondering what happened to this project….I loved it when you showed us a while ago….looks great….and will look even better finished…I have been in “finishing” mode lately…..my challenge now is to stop buying new things to finish!! …at least for a while!
