Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

Happy New Year and all that….

Picture 337a

I can't believe it's January 5th already and I have to go back to work.  What happened to my vacation?  Where are all those projects I was going to complete?

I did work a little bit on my table runner.  But not enough to post any pictures of the progress.  Let's see – what else did I do?  I bought material and a pillow form for a new pillow using a vintage scrap of a quilt.  But then I thought I really needed to work on my other unfinished projects before adding to it.

We did start the year off with a sparkly clean house and yard.  Scrubbed everything up and all took care of all the piles the pile fairy left laying around.

Hopefully things will pick up around here and you won't have just a boring old candle display to look at.  I'm hoping 2009 is a creative and fulfilling year for all of us.

    Happy New Year!
I wasn’t sure what your scheduale was, if you were still on vacation or not, too bad…
Loved your year in review post.

Well, I like the candles. They are a sign that the housework is done and things are all aglow. Okay, a little corny maybe. We are plugging away. Kids back to school toda, I am back to school Wednesday, and hubby back to school Friday. I am digging out from the piles, moving, laundry, holiday, but am confident to be ready to go when classes start next Monday.

Don’t worry about UFOs – think of them as waiting in your creative wings for when you get your sea legs back at work and the routine settles in.

I think your “boring old candlesticks” look quite nice…..very nice actually. Sorry you have to go back to work…..time goes very fast, doesn’t it? Well, I’m looking forward to 2009 and visiting your blog every chance I get….you take care and have a great New Year….Pat

The candles are nice, however, I was laughing about the “pile fairy”. She (or is it a he?) seems to visit here all the time. It is always a victory, even if momentary, to get ahead of her/him.

Sorry your vacation is over! Reality is not so fun after vacation.

That candle display is gorgeous on that silver tray! I may have to copy that! LOL

I didn’t get any of my planned projects done in the two weeks I was off! I always procrastinate when I have too much time off!
