Cindy at Romantic Homes is hosting a Year in Review. It is fun to look back and see how the year unfolded.
January ~ Started off the year my favorite way: At the beach. This was taken in Pacific Grove, CA. This is what California looks like in January.
February ~ A few years ago I went a little crazy ordering daffodil bulbs but it pays off every February with ever increasing number of beautiful flowers.
March ~ Finally got the tile backsplash up. The kitchen is almost finished! I love how it turned out and would do everything the same except I think I will go lighter with the counters next time.
April ~ Is one of my favorite months. This April I got to puppysit the ever adorable Remy. We got into some scrapes, Remy and I, but my goodness did we have fun.
May ~ Attended the 2nd Annual Mother's Day Tea hosted by the lovely Sara. I provided the tags for the teacup exchange. Reminds me…better start working on next year's tags.
June ~ Actually completed a project! I love the colors in this pincushion. I have to remember to work with materials and colors that really speak to me.
July ~ I celebrated two years of blogging and tried to give away a goat.
August ~ Attended the Nevada County Fair, just a little slice of pure, unadultrated Americana.
September ~ Finished ANOTHER project. I'm on a roll! Vow to finish up other projects before starting new ones.
October ~ Had a little party with some all of my favorite people (and animals!).
November ~ Tried a few new things. Not always successfully but a learning experience (and lots of fun) nonetheless.
December ~ Ended the year with a scaled back holiday and discovered it was a much more peaceful way to enjoy this very special time of year.
Happy New Year Everyone! Thank you for taking this journey with me. I look forward to a productive and joyful 2009!

And a Happy New Year to you too!
Just a couple of comments – the pincussion is just lovely, it looks like an iced donut. And I recognize the Wilton paste colours by your pretty hand painted cookies. In one of my cake books there’s a whole side of a cake painted with a wonderful herbaceous border which could be done on a smaller scale on cookies.
Beautiful photographs! I really love the daffodils in the marmalade jar! I’m so glad you joined in because I love your blog! Happy New Year and maybe we can meet in person sometime in 2009!
The photo of the ferris wheel is stunning! I couldn’t stop looking at it. Seriously, you should enter that in a competition… It’s really wonderful. Happy New Year! I look forward to visiting your site again!
Beautiful Photos Andrea! Happy New Year:>) I look forward to a new year of posts!
what a pretty tribute to 2008. i hadn’t looked back through your blog to the beginning of the year and i was so excited to see pictures of your beautiful kitchen. it’s my dream kitchen! can you tell me what paint color is on your wall? and is that a blue paint i see peeking out from the hallway? what color blue did you use? we moved into our house a little over a year ago thinking we’d update our kitchen and it still isn’t done. we’ll probably do it when we start thinking to move!
Andrea, I have enjoyed your year right along with you…..by the way….you have a dream kitchen….I love it!!! Keep up the wonderful posting and I’ll keep watching. Happy New Year!!! Pat

Your blog is beautiful. I love Remy in the bubble. Happy New Year!
What a lovely year! Tell me why you would go with lighter countertops. I have white tile and would like a soapstone. S nice visiting your blog! Happy New Year!
I love your photos. The pincushion is great. I live in Holland and in the spring we have lots of flowering bulbs over her. Then we go by bike and visit the bulbfields it looks great and smells gorgeous.
Happy New Year.
January in California looks much different than January in New Hampshire. Yours looks much more inviting temperature wise although January in NH is really beautiful too. Happy New Year!
