I found the fabric for my apron. I also found the most adorabale online fabric e-tailer called Pink Chalk Fabrics for modern sewists. I was so excited that when I placed my order I spelled my name completely wrong and had to email them after the fact with the proper spelling.
They carry some of the Lecien line that I've seen little teasers of on various quilty blogs I visit. If you go to the Lecien website you can see all of their lines but let me warn you – you will suffer cuteness overload.
My plan is to have the main part of the apron be the squirrel fabric and use the floral for the flounce on the bottom and the ties. The apron doesn't have a pocket so I'll either do a pocket in the floral or I'll do it in the squirrel but edge the top of the pocket with the floral. I have to see how busy it looks.
I can't wait to get my hands on it.
How darling!! it would be fun to have ties in the nice blue color too. Though Mom always says it is very difficult to match blues from differnt dye lots, unless the blue came from the same manufacturer. Anyway! Can’t wai to see it!! Hey, there is a christmas gift idea, giving your sisters and favorite niece an apron for x-mas.
Do you read the Pink Chalk blog? I love her stuff. I ‘m not really a modern sewist but I love seeing all the modern stuff.
Love your squirrely bits! Can’t wait to see your finished product!
This will make a very cute apron. Thanks for the link.
Boy you were not kidding about that Butterick pattern!! It is still out of stock at our Joanns. I think I will have to go and print one of the patterns out of the new book that I bought called A is for apron. Sheesh! The fabric you chose is ADORABLE!!! and that link to the fabric web site is super. I can see why you got so excited that you spelled your name wrong!:)
Have fun with the fabric you ordered and please make sure to show us your apron when you finish it! Love the fabric! 🙂
That is such a different style than what you usually go for! I like it, and agree with Sara—what a great idea for holiday gifts for your relatives.
