I had a paper epiphany yesterday. I was lovingly stroking my new Anna Griffen papers when I realized that I mostly just like to buy them for their potential – not because I have any project in mind.
I have some very talented quilting sisters and they do the same thing with fabric. Something I can never bring myself to do. I need a project, pattern in hand, before I can even concentrate on selecting the fabric. I am always a little stunned and worried for them when they blithely toss a fat quarter collection into their shopping basket just because they like the colors.
Of course paper runs about 30 cents a sheet so that might be the difference. At least it’s a cheap addiction.
Isn’t that pretty? It has a vintage wallpaper feel. I’m seeing a lot of vintage wallpaper, popping up on blogs, these days.
Oh here’s a little known fact about me – I used to be a wallpaper hanger. I worked at a large wallpaper store back in my early 20’s and part of my job was to do demos on Saturdays. We had a little stage area and I would ask someone in the audience to pick a paper (one they were considering) and I would wallpaper a little vingette with it. Then I started doing small jobs on the side. I made pretty good money hanging wallpaper.
The ribbon is vintage rayon seam binding. I found a source online that has a ton of it. 75 and 100 yard rolls. Mostly in blues and greens. I love the French apartment feel the ribbon and paper have. I actually do have a project in mind for this paper. I bought a series of Paris stamps a while back and have an idea for either a collage or a card.
Nice thing about paper is that is doesn’t take up much space. My goodness I need to tidy up my little craft closet.

All so beautiful. . .I am a paper nut, too! They make great gift wrap for small treasures. I love your storage system~~it looks neat to me!!!!

Your closet looks great! You should see mine. No, maybe you shouldn’t. I love your paper boxes. That’s what I need. ~Adrienne~
Beatiful! I havea thing for pink lately, which is so unlike me, but I love your blue and silver theme.
I love beautiful papers and embellishments – it’s so much like fabric and they both make me happy.
Hugs – Karen

Blessings to you

Well, gosh darn it Andrea! That “source” you linked to for the seam binding is terrific! I could easily spend my next paycheck there, and all the ideas floating in my head now . . . I’m not sure I’ll be able to sleep! LOL!
