Candied violets from Market Hall Foods. I am going to make bite sized brownies and top them with the violets. They are so delicate and have an interesting flavor – not quite so perfumey as the old violet gum.

So what is the purpose of this blog anyway? Good question. I’m envisioning it to be place to just collect my thoughts and ideas on what is interesting me at the moment. Kind of a creative outlet or repository if you will. Or just a spot to gather my thoughts.
Right now what interests me is cooking, gardening, paper ephemera and decorating. I’m trying to improve my digital photography skills so I can incorporate images. Something I’ve seen on other blogs that I really like are inspiration boards. I’d like to capture the things that I find intriguing so I can go back to them when I come up with some way to incorporate them into MY life. So often I see something that I think is really beautiful or that I would like to do and then I forget about it.
So first on my agenda is to learn photoshop. I’m finding myself frustrated with my lack of technical skills. I know how I want this place to look but I can’t quite get there yet. But I will – little by little.

I have just enough technical skills to know that I’m an imbecile at creating webpages or adding anything the least bit interesting. So bear with me as I stumble along in getting this place up and going. I swear it will be worth it when I’m done.
