So I pull into my driveway yesterday and discover I have a visitor.
Several visitors in fact.
One cheeky devil even was lounging around on the deck.
Turkeys make the strangest noise. It isn’t gobble gobble like the cartoons would lead you to believe. It’s more like you put your finger on the inside of your cheek and pop it out – that popping sound is exactly what they sound like.
Hmmm ~ wonder what we should have for dinner tonight….
Whoops ~ there they go.
I’m hoping for a muster of peacocks next.
Uh oh. They’re back and now THEY are looking hungry.
I was safely in the house taking this picture. Mr. Turkey was gazing in the window at me. A peeping tom!
I sometimes see them too…once I was sunning on the deck when that clucking scared me to death! He had his head stuck thru the posts right near me! I’ve heard that the meat from wild turkeys is really tough.
Boy, they sure arn’t winning any beauty contests are they?
They look a lot like vultures to me.
We had them at work last year. Can you belive wild turkeys in the middle of a Silicon Valley Industrial area! I think they are taking over California!
Your property is so beautiful. I love this time of year when everything is so green.
OMG! I love the turkeys. I lived up north for a couple of years in Pleasanton & we saw turkeys quite often. Now I am back in So. Cal and no turkeys. What a sweet reminder…
Your yard is so lush and beautiful!
And you got me to laugh out loud with the “peeping tom” pun. 🙂
