Okay so no ode, exactly – it’s a bit early in the day for that. But I do have to rethink my whole ‘peonies are more trouble than they’re worth’ stance. Pike’s Place Market was loaded with them and they were gorgeous. So lush. Buckets and buckets of them in the most amazing pinks, corals, creams, peaches.
Tonight we are going to a restaurant that my coworker who lives here says is the best local seafood and the tourists haven’t found it yet. I probably shouldn’t mention the name (I can’t recall it anyway) – try to keep it a local secret. Yeah – like my mentioning it is going to affect the tourism in Seattle…
I love this postcard of the Space Needle. It’s so Tomorrowland looking.

Oh those peonies are so beautiful! If I had the room in my yard I would probably try growing them too even though I’ve heard they don’t do well.

Oh that postcad is fabulous, did you buy it? That would make a great poster for a boys room… Gorgeous peonies. Trader Joes had some last week,so I bought white ones for the house.

Those peonies are wonderful! They grow really well here so I might check to see if the landlord will allow me to plant at least one bush. xoxo

Great photo of the peonies!! I actually posted a “peony photo” today too but now they look so small and sad compared to those Seattle beauties!
P.S. I listed you on my blog as a favorite site~~keep up the wonderful work!

That Pike’s Place Market has the most beautiful flowers! When I visited Seattle, I wanted to get so some so badly – but had no vase to keep them in. . . but I was still so tempted! I hope you have a wonderful time in Seattle!

I want to be there with you. And then I want you to be home. Why can’t we have peonies?
Laurie Anne says
Glad you are enjoying Seattle ( I live just south of it) How was dinner? Ivar’s or Ray’s? Win, win either way :0)

I love peonies! My daughter is having them, along with hydrangeas in her bouquet for her wedding in August.

Oh, those peonies look like pink chiffon fabric! Absolutely gorgeous!

I’m wanting to visit Seattle again now, having seen your photos; unfortunately, as a tourist, it’s awfully hard to take advantage of Pike’s Place. We never did go up the Space Needle, but we did a kind of interesting Murder Tour–no kidding! It was a different way to get a bit of an overview of the city. I love peonies too, but here in Sacramento, they last about a day. Maybe two. I have one plant that puts out about three blooms a year, which are promptly either beaten into the mud from rain or burned to a crisp by our high temps. Yep, I’m missing Seattle.

Ohhh the peonies are to die for! I remember the Pike Market all too well, having been there to watch the Blue Jays play Seattle (the 1st year the Jays won 2 in a row). We walked from the top of the market to the bottom, what a fabulous time! I wish I had taken photos, and I would love to do it again sometime. What a lovely place with so many neat boutiques and shops!
