Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

The Ebenezer post

Tree_2006a

We decided not to put up our regular tree this year.  We will be down at my Dad's house early on Christmas morning and will open presents there.  I admit to feeling a bit bah humbugish this year about the holidays.  I just can't bring myself to put up a tree and then have to turn around and take it down again when it will just be Rick and I that see it.

So my little silver tree will suffice.  The picture above is from 2006.  If I HAD put a tree up this year it would have looked exactly the same.

We are supposed to get snow tonight.  When we first moved up here we had one day where it snowed.  Didn't stick but it was really quite something to see it come down.  Being a California girl I get over-excited when I see snow.  Of course I wouldn't want to live in it but it is rather magical to see it in a place you just don't expect it.

I feel the same way about snow. We got our first snow of winter yesterday. Where we are we got about 4″ that is rare as we live close to the valley floor which is pretty much sea level. However the news was showing pictures of snow on the beach so it was a good snow day. If you got snow enjoy and be safe. TTFN

I think you know I’m in the northeast and I LOVE the winter weather. There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing fresh fallen snow covering everything in sight with the sunlight making the snow look like it’s mixed with glitter!!!! I couldn’t do without the changing seasons here.

I think your little silver tree is beautiful. I can understand the bah humbug this year. I just can’t seem to get in the mood. I’ll be kind of glad when it’s over.

There just wasn’t enough time between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. I remember a post you did at Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. I remember your Dad at the head of the table. That stuck with me. I don’t know why. But it did. I also remember you talking about your mom’s midnight garden. Is that the name of it? An all white garden? Anyway, I hope you take pictures when with your Dad this year at Christmas. Being with family is all that matters this time of year. The trees (and all the other nonsense) are just background.
