Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

Lobster roll, anyone?

Picture 9265

Page 2 of the travel wishbook.  The places depicted are in no special order, by the way.  If someone waved their magic wand and said I could go anywhere I'd be on a plane to Paris faster than you could say au revoir.

But since there doesn't appear to be a travel fairy godmother in these parts we'll just head for Maine in my imagination.

As with the New Orleans page each item represents something uniquely Maine-ish.   Can you guess them?

I stitched that spider web onto the page.  I saw a Halloween card where they had done that and filed the idea away for future use.  Now what could a spider web have to do with Maine?  Hmmm?

I've always wanted to eat a lobster roll and I never have.  There is something kind of appealing about taking a rather luxurious food item and serving it in such a simple, accessible way.

I think the next stop on our journey will be somewhere in Europe.   Not sure yet where.  Paris would be the obvious choice but I have to let the images and embellishments inspire me.

As a cottage owner in Maine you picked a good place to visit. Maine is magical in my opinion. What I see on your page is lobster, bluberries (just don’t be expecting those horrible big ones-we like the little wild ones which are so much more flavorful), Stephen King’s house in Bangor, a Maine coon cat and bugs-there are lots of them up there. The beach picture on the other hand must be from Long Island. Our beaches are mostly rocky and the water is too cold to swim in. Good for collecting beach glass though. If you go in my archives of July 2007 and July 2008 you can see some pictures of our Maine place.

Well I’m from Nova Scotia and it too is big big on lobster and blueberries. Now living in Kansas , I hate that you can’t run to the lobster pound and get a nice lobster cold pack and come home and make yummy lobster rolls . I tried buying the weird lobster they sold here at walmart and it was awful and my lobster rolls did not bring back the happy thoughts of good ones from back home.

Maine is number 1 on my vacation wish list.
If it’s good enough for Martha, count me in.
    Maybe next year!

Instagram post 2340945580020536121_13069943 Guess who is getting some Grandma time this weekend! Rick thought this was a little over the top but I just wanted to fulfill my Holiday fairy tent fantasies.
Instagram post 2340488496363792013_13069943 I ran out of day (and daylight) to take a real photo so you get a pithy saying instead. Happy weekend! You are all dear to me. Just thought you should know that.
