Meet Mr. & Mrs. Zebra Finch. They are my oldest son's feathered companions. They are just as sweet as they look and like to chatter away at anyone that comes within their vacinity.
Which is rather charming at 2:00pm but not so much at 5:30am. My son had taken to tossing a towel over the cage at night but I didn't think that was very attractive so I whipped up a cage cover this morning.
It's super simple but much nicer than an old towel. I'm thinking it needs something. Like maybe grosgrain ribbon trim. I'd slap some lace on it if it were mine but I don't think my son has quite the same decorating esthetic that I have.
(Excuse the cellphone pics – my camera is elsewhere today)

Oh how cute they are! Such sweet teensy little things! Your cover is very nice. I’m sure they are enjoying it much more than the towel.

We had several finch pairs at one time. They paired up and even laid eggs, but none ever hatched.
As for the cover. A nice painted design, stamped or stenciled to match your dedcor would be nice. Very customized.

I always meant to make one of these for my little parakeets and never did! I was going to embroider stuff on it and everything. Next time I get a little bird, I think I will do it!! Yours is great 🙂
