Under a Blue Moon

Decor, cooking, organization, all the pretty things

6.15.11

Big happenings around here, much to the consternation of the feathered contingency.  Can't you just hear Ina, "What the devil…."

The deck demolition is underway.  The new deck, which will look exactly like the old deck minus the rotting underpinings and badly needed refinishing, should take about three weeks to complete.

In the mean time I'll try to remember not to step out of the living room door into nothing.

The past few Summers we have had elderly skunk decide their final resting place should be under my kitchen window.  So it will be interesting to see what is under there when those boards get pulled up.  Who knew we lived over an ancient skunk burial ground.

Of course up until this week it has been unseasonable cold around here.  Now the temperatures are in the 90's.  I feel for the construction crew.

This upcoming Monday we have the landscaping guy starting on the driveway circle.  That, at least, will look new and different.  I can't wait for all of it to be finished and to start the Summer entertaining.

Don’t you just love renovations?! I’m neck deep in cabinet building with my lusty woodsman…our kitchen will be gutted around the first week of July. Hoping for a swift transition, I’m not very good at digesting hot dogs and washing dishes in my tub. I hope your rebuild is swift as well, a tumble out the sliders would be most unfortunate…Cheers!

Oh, renovations! I just keep telling myself to remember the end product. We’re almost done our kitchen cabinets and I can hardly wait to put down tools and paintbrushes for the summer!

Your new deck will be a wonderful place to lounge/read/work – sans skunks!

I so enjoy renovations and new building projects. We are hoping to build a ‘real’ house in a year.

WOW, a new deck! That’s cool. By the way, those are lovely looking chickens. 🙂

Instagram post 2340945580020536121_13069943 Guess who is getting some Grandma time this weekend! Rick thought this was a little over the top but I just wanted to fulfill my Holiday fairy tent fantasies.
Instagram post 2340488496363792013_13069943 I ran out of day (and daylight) to take a real photo so you get a pithy saying instead. Happy weekend! You are all dear to me. Just thought you should know that.
