If you live in Northern California you know we have been having a very mild Winter so far. And every year, around this time, we are tricked into thinking Spring is imminent.
We'll have a week of mild temperatures and you'll get all lulled into thinking Spring is on the way and you'll start planning your rose bed and your picnics and then bam! It's Winter again.
I decided to bring a little faux Spring into the house until the real thing makes a proper appearance. Our grocery store was selling the plant combo above for about $7. Not bad for a little taste of Spring.
The bucket it is sitting is from Hobby Lobby. I bought a set of three of them for $4.50 (50% off their normal price). Not bad – a buck-fifty for each little bucket. I painted mine white because, well – just because I wanted to.

That was an excellent purchase! I’ve priced bulbs (not to mention getting them started and so on) and it was a great choice, even without the bucket! Pure happiness. Wishing you a nice but not too nasty winter…if it ever comes! 🙂

Very pretty flowers! Here in so cal we are having some pretty silly temps-one week in the 50’s and 60’s, then a week in the 80’s.

So, pretty!
We are enjoying a warmer than normal winter here too. (Much better than last year’s seemingly never ending Snowmageddon.)
Hoping that hyacinth is making the house smell wonderful!

Here in England, we’ve not had the bad weather (by our standards) that we had last year and the year before. Even so, it’s too chilly still for non-greenhoused spring blooms, so it’s lovely to see such a pretty arrangement in that charming bucket. It’s a great photo, too. 🙂
I have a hyacinth on my bedroom windowsill, and it smells heavenly every time I pass it.
Loving the blog, by the way. 🙂
