Every Thursday evening, from May until October, there is a farmer's market just a few blocks from our house. I'm telling you one of our top items on our new home wishlist was to be within walking distance of a cute, vibrant downtown and Livermore has that in spades. I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming whenever we walk around here.
I've been telling everyone that I feel like I'm living in an Andy Griffith television show. Mayberry RFD could have been filmed here.
Last Thursday I took pictures as I headed to the Farmer's market so you could see what I mean. So let's go!
I don't think there is anything more All-American than a porch, hydrangeas and a flag. I bet I could go knock on that door and borrow a cup of sugar.
This picture (above) is a retirement home. It used to be a hospital in a previous life.
There are picket fences everywhere. One of the improvements we want to make to our house is to add a picket fence. So we walk around the neighborhood comparing different styles of pickets and try to figure out which is our favorite. I have it narrowed down to about ten different styles.
When I go again this week I'll take pictures of the actual farmer's market. It is just the perfect size. Plenty of selection but not so many vendors that it's overwhelming.
Very charming!
I have just stumbled onto your blog and love it! I went back to 2011. Couldn’t stop reading and enjoyed it all.
Will be back often. 🙂
I had no idea Livermore had cozy little neighborhoods like this. I have only visited my cousin out in a new housing development, and figured it was all like that. Your little neck of the woods is quite charming! I love and miss sidewalks.
What a charming place to live. Your happiness is very evident in your words. Love all the picket fences.
OMG, I am in LOVE! This is just a perfect neighborhood. I’m thrilled for you. Enjoy.
I would love to live in that neighborhood. And it has always been a dream to have a white picket fence.
What a darling neighborhood, so cute. So perfect that you can walk to Farmer’s Market, and other places, you are blessed. Thank you for sharing the pictures…
