Buttons ◊ Packaging gets me every time… ◊ Postage ◊ vintage wallpaper!!
- I'm a sucker for packaging especially if it looks vintage so the Besame line of cosmetics is right up my alley. The packaging and colors are based on the designs and makeup available in the 20's, 30's and 40's. I have a blush that I've had for close to ten years that I'm rationing because I don't want to use it up. I have my eye on a lipstick based on Snow White's lip color in the 1937 cartoon
- A look inside Lauren Bacall's New York apartment of 53 years. I love how layered and lived in it looks. So many celebrity homes are designed and decorated to within an inch of their lives and don't show the personality of the inhabitant. I guess after 53 years a place is going to look lived in
- Sweet little travel backgammon set. Rick and I used to play backgammon all the time. I think we stopped because he always won….
- Haha! For your well read tippler
Happy Friday! I think it's safe to officially kick off Christmas now that Thanksgiving is behind us. I've already put up a few decorations. Not much but enough to start getting into the festive spirit. Still need to sort out what we are going to do about the outside.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you for posting your Deconstructed Egg Roll recipe. I love it! And I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Keto diet, so I’m planning to start in January (no point in torturing myself with those restrictions over the holidays, plus I need to get by husband on board and that will take time). If you more Keto-compliant favorites, I’d love to know about them.

I think I could eat the deconstructed egg roll everyday and not get tired of it. I have a couple of other recipes Ill be posting in the upcoming weeks. Like my enchiladas that use zucchini instead of tortillas. You dont even care the tortillas arent in there. I wish I could get my husband on board. I just make him what Im eating and Ill throw some pasta or a potato on his plate and call it a day.

I was blessed to meet Lauren Bacall several years ago when Don did a gala performance of Finian’s Rainbow for the Irish Repertory Theater in NYC. She was on the Board and she raved about his performance when I happened to be near her table. Somehow I had been introduced to Ms. Bacall and Phyllis Newman and she asked what my affiliation with the Rep was and I said that my husband played the Senator (a wickedly satiric take on a Southern Bigot) in the show. She said – in that terrific voice of hers: “Well, your husband is TERRIFIC.” I’ll never forget it. She was gracious, smart as a whip and a true star and so friendly and warm. I fell for her then and there.

Goodness how fabulous! To me she was just the epitome of strong womanliness. Not to mention an outspoken liberal democrat. My kind of woman.
Now I want to have a Lauren Bacall movie marathon.
