  • Pretty storage for all those assorted tea bags
  • Stands to reason that someone that works for Anthropolgie would have an interesting, eclectic home.  I'm mostly in love with the all the late 19th century details but I also covet the large ottoman/bench in the first picture
  • Give Back Box sounds like a win win donating process.  Fill a cardboard box with items to donate, print a label and ship it for free to your closet local participating charity
  • Has anyone seen Their Finest?  It looks like a good period drama.  I seem to love any movie that is set in the past and especially love the costuming of movies set in the 40's

I hope everyone is doing well after the past couple of weeks of festivities.  It was hard to get back to work.  The problem with taking a couple of weeks off is it takes you about a week to just start getting the hang of relaxing and then boom!  Vacation over.  I am going to take more frequent breaks during the year.  I take a day of here and there but this year I will take bigger chunks off throughout the year.  I have so much vacation time that I can never use it up.

It helps that we have a holiday (Martin Luther King's Day) on January 15th right around the corner to help us ease back into work.

I love today's photo mosaic – it's so cheerful.  My motto for 2018 it to radiate cheer.  2017 was rather dour and I'm going to do my part to turn that around.

Happy weekend everyone!

I clicked the link to the house tour and was delighted to see it was a house in Haddonfield, NJ. Haddonfield is very special to me…I did my student teaching there, many years ago. It’s a lovely Colonial town, with a cute shopping district. My son-in-law is a police detective in Haddonfield and he and my daughter were married in the Episcopal Church that is on Kings Highway in town. Haddonfield has been part of my life since I was a child…I lived down the road two towns in Collingswood both as a child and when I first moved out on my own, when I taught right across the Cooper River in Merchantville. I remember sitting in the fabric store there, playing with fabric while my mom shopped for fabric for our Easter dresses. I later shopped in the same store for quilt fabric! I’ve been in many of the old homes (my mom just did their Christmas House Tour!) and it’s a delight to see one of the grand ladies that has been updated. Thanks for the link!

Their Finest is pretty good but Darkest Hour is even better. Darkest Hour is events of 1940 through Dunkirk (and big speech Winston Churchill gives in parliament afterwards, you will probably recognize parts of it), while Their Finest takes place during WW2 but right after Dunkirk.

That is just so lovely! Thank you for sharing with me. Here in California – a fairly young state – these older homes are few and far between. I would love to live somewhere with more history like Haddonfield. My dream is to live in an older home like this. I think we have one more house in us and Im hoping it is something like this home.

Thank you for the tip. Gary Oldman looks fabulous in it. Im hoping the DVD comes out fairly quickly so I can watch it with my Dad. It is totally his type of movie.

Instagram post 2340945580020536121_13069943 Guess who is getting some Grandma time this weekend! Rick thought this was a little over the top but I just wanted to fulfill my Holiday fairy tent fantasies.
Instagram post 2340488496363792013_13069943 I ran out of day (and daylight) to take a real photo so you get a pithy saying instead. Happy weekend! You are all dear to me. Just thought you should know that.
