I am back from crashing the quilt party. More on the quilting in a bit.
One of my favorite things to do while in Danville is to go to Cottage Jewel, a little antique shop. It's like walking into someone's home who collects all the things I love. Beautiful old dishes and silver, linens and vintage hats. Everything is clean and nicely displayed. None of that old basement smell some antique shops have.
I bought a linen hand towel with crocheted lace on both ends. I hope that whomever spent the time crocheting this knows that someone that really appreciates it has it now.
I got up early and packed up my car with my projects and my sewing machine and got to Danville around 9:00am. Most ladies were already at work on their projects.
Starting from the lower left and going clockwise: Annette, Nicki in the red, Sara, Bette, Linda and Connie in the purple. Not in the picture are Toni and Marla.
Here is Sara working on one of the eighty different projects she worked on during the day. The girl is prolific.
Here's my project: Acorn Quilt & Gift Company Meadow quilt pattern. I adjusted it to be square so I could use it as a table topper. Now I intially planned on hand appliquing the flowers on it (I fused the flowers on first) so I assembled the whole quilt. If I had known I was going to change my mind I would have machine appliqued the blocks before assembling.
My machine applique skills kind of suck but we'll just say we don't want it to look too polished, mkay?
